Position Summary

On-air Talent Personality is responsible for the daily broadcasting of a radio station to which is assigned, and their work focuses on engaging the listening or viewing audience in a creative and engaging manner while maintaining FCC compliance for content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform live broadcast show that is entertaining and informative to their audience
  • Interview personalities and guests
  • Record commercials for later broadcast.
  • Serve as a reporter as assigned, including special reports

Position Summary

SBS is seeking a skilled and versatile Promotions Manager to lead and direct the Promotions department to support SBS stations in coordination with the Sales department and Corporate initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate station staff for promotion events.
  • Support sales and programming department鈥檚 initiatives and manage tasks in accordance to goals and objectives.
  • Prepare strategic plans for all promotion based on research and direction from Programing.
  • Organizing team for every activation and assist with new employee onboarding and training program.
  • Provide relevant updates to staff/management and participate in meetings as needed.
  • Meet with Sales and Programing weekly to obtain briefing on advertising priorities, long-term goal progress and critical market shifts.
  • Keep sales and operations team updated on all campaign developments.
  • Ability to train and lead station鈥檚 street team to meet station objectives
  • Ability to Negotiate partnership deals on behalf of the station
  • Responsible for managing stations promotional giveaways and displays ie: signage/print collateral materials etc.
  • Manage and/or work trade shows /events. (ability to work flexible hours including weekends when necessary)
  • Reports to Director of Sales Promotion/Sponsorships
  • Works with Vcreative to schedule on-air giveaways (including rules when necessary)
  • Pulls winners and manages prize fulfillment (calling winners)
  • Manages/Schedules Street Team for promotional events (remotes, van hits, station events, etc.)
  • Trains and leads station鈥檚 street team to meet station objectives
  • Responsible for execution of client asks at station remotes
  • Manages and/or works trade shows /events.
  • Executes digital aspects of a promotion (postings)
  • Looks for community events, parades, tree lightings, marathons, etc.

  • Responsible for completing and submitting fully executed Sales contracts on a timely basis to the Local Sales Manager, with all authorized signatures and corresponding approved insertion orders from advertisers. Assures data within insertion order agrees to that of the sales contract,
  • Provides a new and revised sales contract for revisions, changes, or cancellations.
  • Reviews contract confirmations and assures that the account has been created/input correctly as contracted, and that changes in client data or advertising schedule changes have been updated in the Wide Orbit system. Mails contract confirmation to clients and keeps a copy as support for their records.
  • Provides copies of production orders on a timely basis to Copywriting/ Production and Continuity.
  • Assures that when necessary, any spots that need to be 鈥渕ade good鈥 are followed up on accordingly and approved by the clients.
  • Reviews the 鈥淐ontract Verification Report鈥 listing all bumped spots and assures each advertiser is being followed up with, so that revenues are not lost.
  • Monitors the market stations to keep informed on what advertisers are active in the marketplace and targets those accounts as potential advertisers.
  • Works under the general supervision of the Local Sales Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • An Associate degree or its equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in Media Sales or in a related area with a high volume of sales.

  • Ability to create advertising proposals and exercise excellent presentation skills.
  • Ample knowledge of radio broadcast sales tools, such as Arbitron rating numbers, Maximiser, Wide Orbit, and Tapscan, including the use of formulas in sales proposals and presentations.
